At Wedge Lock we have many year’s experience within Construction and specifically the Fastener Industry. We are able to give excellent Technical assistance as well as logistical support with a wide range of Fastener applications and specifically in the need for making critical bolted joints safe by ensuring they do not come loose.

Our passion is in educating people about the ways to make critical bolted joints Safe by understanding the ways different devices work and helping you to choose the right one for your application. The Fastener Industry is a huge sector and almost every structure will have some fasteners within them but strangely the Education regarding Fasteners is limited and unless you take a specific interest in this area it is left to the fastener manufacturers to educate Engineers on a job by job basis.

This is when it can become dangerous and if someone has used a Nylon Inserted nut for example for many projects and its has worked without any issue they will continue to do so but without maybe understanding the limitations of them until its is too late and a bolted joint fails.

Our solution is not always the best solution for the job because it might be that the joint only requires the bolt for positioning/location and is not subjected to any major dynamic loads or vibration so a standard nut or Nylon Inserted nut would work fine and save on costs.

Wedge Locking Washers are a proven solution for maintaining the load in a bolted joint and should not be confused as the same solution as a Nylon Inserted Nut or Friction based all metal locking nut. Our product maintains the load in the joint and not just stops the nut from falling off the thread like other more traditional products do.
