Bridges

The construction and maintenance of bridges involves the design and installation of many bolted joints for various applications and the nature of the project means that lots of dynamic loads are incurred on these structures.  

The dynamic load on these structures can come from the natural elements such as the wind or sea as well as imposed loading from vehicles and foot traffic.  The bolted joints on these structures are absolutely safety critical so it is essential that the Pre-load (Clamping Force) in the bolt is maintained and not lost through the mentioned dynamic loadings.

WL Series Wedge Locking washers solve these issues and are used on many bolted joints on bridge structures such as the securing the brackets for Wind Defenders on the side of the bridges or for the securing of building services underneath the bridge such as cabling and even drainage systems.
