Petrochemical Plants

The environment in a Petrochemical Processing Plant creates the need for many safety critical bolted joints to ensure the general safe operation of the whole plant. The bolted joints in these critical applications are subjected to extreme pressures and vibrations and are designed with a fail-safe mechanism. It is essential to be able to predict a consistent performance of the bolted joint to be able to design these connections and that is why the WL Series Wedge Locking washers are used.

The wedge locking washers maintain the pre-load in the joint at a level that can be consistent enough for the designer to know when the bolted joint as a whole will fail and trigger the fail-safe mode.

The applications for Wedge Locking washers in these environments are generally on Compressors, Turbines, Flanges and Heat Exchangers.
